Ashcott, Somerset – May 2024 – October 2024

The property is a detached brick built property.

The fire started under the stairs and destroyed most of the building including the stairs and roof, a full refurbishment was required.

Works

The works involved the following:

  • Complete scaffolding with tin hat covering
  • Replacement roof structure (cut roof inc dormers)
  • Complete new tiled roof
  • Replacement UPVC doors and windows
  • New aluminium bi-fold doors to rear
  • Internal refurbishment including full plastering
  • New kitchen with built in appliances
  • Complete replacement of electrical systems
  • Liaised with local air source heating contractor
  • Log burner
  • New modern bathrooms and en-suite
  • Decoration throughout

Quite a complicated build, in so much that the client took the opportunity to include in the insurance re-instatement a full loft conversation and ground floor alterations adding a financial contribution themselves.

The client adapted the insurance working drawings to create the loft conversion, but there was still a considerable amount of design left to be agreed as the build continued.
